Rajan Shrestha

Ph.D. Candidate

Research Interest: wireless communication systems, massive MIMO, hybrid beamforming, machine
learning for next-generation wireless communications.

Rajan Shrestha joined the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Arizona in January 2025 as a Ph.D. student. Previously, he worked as a Radio Frequency (RF) Analyst at Global Wireless Solutions Inc. (GWS) in Dulles, Virginia from 2018 to 2024. His work involved benchmarking and optimizing LTE and 5G cellular network performance for Tier 1 wireless carriers in the U.S. and Canada. Rajan earned his M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, IL, USA, in 2018. During his master's program, he conducted research on 5G LTE wireless technology, including massive MIMO, hybrid beamforming, simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT), and RF energy harvesting. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Tribhuvan University, Nepal.
